Maya Festival

After embarking on a trip to South and Central America, friends Oskar and William started a private festival and aptly named it Maya. Every year, on the island of Bornholm in Denmark, between 50 and 100 people meet up to showcase their bands, art and poetry, and to have a genuinely good heartwarming time.

Design studio Moby Digg designed the font below as part of the branding for the Panama Plus music and arts festival.
Conveniently named MD Maya, and inspired by various shapes from this ancient civilisation. it was a perfect fit for Maya Festival.

On the site is the coffee roastery Sueños, meaning 'dreams' in spanish, sourcing beans from their own coffee farm in Nicaragua.

Two types of special beers were brewed for the occasion in 2019.
After tasting them, Oskar and William gave them names, and I picked a design and
colour combination for each, and set a human factory in motion to label them all.
